Desh Bhagat University Organizes Blood Donation Camp to Pay Homage to Ahmedabad Air Crash Victims

 

Desh Bhagat University, in a heartfelt tribute to the victims of the tragic Ahmedabad air crash, organized a blood donation camp at Desh Bhagat Hospital. The initiative, held under the university’s social responsibility mission, witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, staff, and local youths from catchment area villages - all coming together in solidarity and compassion. NCC Cadets from Navy Unit – 1PB NU, NCC Naya Nangal – 20 cadets, and Army Unit 14PB BN, NCC Nabha – 10 cadets donated blood in the camp under the supervision of Sub. Lt. Chamanpreet Kaur. The camp was inaugurated by Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh and Dr. Tajinder Kaur, Pro-Chancellor, who emphasized the importance of such initiatives in cultivating empathy and civic responsibility among youth. “This is not just a gesture of tribute—it’s a reminder of the strength of human connection and the importance of stepping forward in times of tragedy,” they said. Dr. Zora Singh honored the blood donors. The necessary arrangements for the smooth functioning of the camp were carried out under the expert guidance of Dr. Kulbushan, Director DBAC & H; Dr. Jyoti H. Dhami, Medical Superintendent DBH; and Mr. Satyam Kumar, Senior Laboratory Technician. Over one hundred units of blood were collected during the camp, which was organized in collaboration with Red Aid Blood Centre Khanna. All health and safety protocols were strictly followed to ensure the well-being of donors and organizers alike. Vice Chancellor Dr. Harsh Sadawarti praised the spirit of the university community, stating, “Our students have once again shown that they are not only academic achievers but also socially conscious individuals.” Desh Bhagat University remains committed to contributing to humanitarian causes and will continue to organize such initiatives to promote public welfare and national unity.
