A five-day Online Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on "Importance and Effective Implementation of Outcome-Based Education and NEP 2020", organized by AIU-DBU-AADC. The initiative witnessed active participation from 43 faculty members of Desh Bhagat University and various other institutions across the region.
The opening remarks were delivered by Prof. (Dr.) H.K. Sidhu, AIU-DBU-AADC Coordinator, who emphasized the relevance of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and NEP 2020 in modernizing teaching practices.
Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor, highlighted that such initiatives enhance both faculty development and institutional progress. Prof. (Dr.) Harsh Sadawarti, Vice Chancellor, shared the university’s vision of integrating advanced tools and pedagogical reforms in alignment with NEP 2020.The first day Dr. Sesadeba Pany (Central University, Punjab) discussed mapping and assessment of Programme and Course Outcomes.On Day 2, Dr. Aditya Bakshi (NMIMS, Chandigarh) shared insights into effective teaching strategies aligned with OBE.
Day 3 Dr. Dnyaneshwar Arjun Madane (PAU, Ludhiana) explored the benefits of digital tools in academic administration.
On Day 4, Dr. H.K. Sidhu addressed the evolving role of educators in the ICT-driven landscape envisioned by NEP 2020. The valedictory session featured Prof. (Dr.) Madhu Parhar (Former Director, IGNOU), who spoke on the transition from Alpha to Beta learners. Dr. Ranjana Parihar, Nodal Officer, AIU, elaborated on the NEP 2020 reforms and the central role of Outcome-Based Education in fostering a more holistic, flexible, and student-centric system. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. (Dr.) H.K. Sidhu.
