Fruit Scientist Dr. Desh Beer Singh Deliberates on Post-Harvest Management at Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University 

 

The Department of Agriculture at Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib organised a special lecture by a renowned fruit scientist Dr. Desh Beer Singh, former Director of ICAR–Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture, Srinagar, and currently serving as Honorary Professor at Sri Guru Sahib World University. Speaking on “Post-Harvest Management, Processing and Value Addition of Horticultural Crops”, Dr. Singh shared scientific methods to reduce post-harvest losses and to boost farmers’ income through value addition. Prof. Sukhwinder Singh Billing, Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, lauded Dr. Singh’s outstanding contributions to horticultural science and appreciated the efforts of the Department in organising such informative lectires. Dr. Jaspreet Kaur Dhillon, Head of the Department thanked the speaker for sharing his valuable insights on the subject. She also expressed her gratitude to the faculty, and students for making the event a success.
