The Government Railway Police (GRP) Sirhind has arrested a man in connection with the recovery of poppy husk from the parking area of Sirhind Railway Station. Confirming the arrest, GRP Sirhind SHO Inspector Rattan Lal said that on August 7, during Independence Day security checks, a joint team of GRP and RPF led by ASI Harjinder Singh carried out checking at Sirhind Railway Station. During the operation, the police noticed a suspicious motorcycle parked near Platform No. 1 with a bag loaded on it. On checking, the bag was found to contain 12 kg 74 grams of poppy husk. A case under Section 15 of the NDPS Act was registered at GRP Police Station Sirhind, and further investigation was initiated.
