Desh Bhagat University and Global school Celebrated International Yoga Day

- Desh Bhagat Radio is also running a yoga campaign in the associaltion with AYUSH department for the last three months.

Fatehgarh Sahib 21 June (Ravinder Dhindsa) : Desh Bhagat University and Desh Bhagat Global school Celebrated International Yoga Day by organizing an online webinar and events with the theme of "Yoga for Wellness"& "Be With Yoga, Be at Home”. The Students & Faculty members of Desh Bhagat University actively participated to Celebrate International Yoga Day on an online virtual session conducted by Yoga Expert Dr.Anil Joshi Associate Professor, Swasthavritta & Yoga. Also, Desh Bhagat Radio in association with Commonwealth Educational Media Center of Asia has also launched a radio and online campaign in the last 3 months under the aegis of the Department of AYUSH, which has helped in promoting Yoga widely.
Chancellor of the University Dr. Zora Singh said that The Covid-19 plight was not just a physical crisis, it also left lasting impacts on mental health, with many left in psychological suffering, depression, and anxiety dealing with the pandemic-necessitated restrictions and loss. Yoga can come to the help of people dealing with such crises, Yoga practice is to promote both physical and mental health. Yoga is an invaluable gift of India's ancient tradition. 
Giving details of the event spokesperson of the university said here today that it is the seventh edition of International Day of Yoga worldwide. It is relevant for our times in a society that is still recovering from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. On this occasion, Dr.Anil Joshi performed various Asanas to enhance body strength, increase your muscle tone flexibility and strength, and Also, practicing a series of sun salutation cycles every day shapes muscles in your arms, legs, abdomen, and back, and increases your core strength called Suryanamasksar. Breathing exercises (pranayama) were performed for better breathing techniques that have many physical and mental benefits. Certain breathing exercises have a calming effect on your nervous system and even help allergy patients clear their nasal passages. The healing effects of these regular breathing exercises have contributed immensely to the well-being of people suffering from lung disease, heart disorders, or asthma.
Pro-Chancellor of DBU and Secretary of DBGS Dr. Tejinder Kaur thanked Desh Bhagat Ayurvedic College and Hospital and Desh Bhagat Global School for organizing such a beautiful and motivational session. She further said that Yoga renews the mind with confidence. It calms the mind and improves concentration and patience. Practicing asanas and pranayama regulates the purification of the internal system of the organs.
