Rs 3.31 Crores fine collected from unauthorized railway passengers in July Month through ticket checking squad

Fatehgarh Sahib, August 3 (Ravinder Singh Dhindsa) : Conquering the adversities arisen due to Covid, the  Ambala Division of Northern Railway has geared up back on track by achieving significant revenue from ticket checking in the month of July-2021.  Total  794 checks were conducted during the month across the division and detected approx. 61K  cases of irregular travel and without travels recovering the amount to the tune of Rs. 3.31 crores.

Divisional Railway Manager Gurinder Mohan Singh lauded that as the covid letting up gradually, trains are running with good occupancy, thus division paced the checks to render convenience to the authorized travels. To ensure Covid norms, 794 cases of without mask was also realized. A Special emphasis has been laid to curb the menace of Littering among the general public to make Railway Stations clean. For this purpose, regular checks are conducted over the main stations of the division as a result of which 212 passengers were apprehended under the Anti-Littering Act and Rs. 41120 has been recovered from them.

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager  Hari Mohan apprised that it was the result of sustained efforts of Senior Supervisors and hard work of dedicated and diligent checking staff. The efforts of the Ticketing checking staff of the Division are appreciable and the division is committed to keep the pace moving upwards and not lower the guard to fulfill the aspirations of passengers.
