Chandigarh, 23 March (Agency) : To spread awareness about the menace of drug abuse by the youth, the VADA (Victory Against Drug Abuse) Club and SarvSaksham, Theatre Club of Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma College organised a street play and an awareness rally at the college premises. The event was conducted in association with the Director Higher Education and Department of Social Welfare, Chandigarh Administration under the aegis of the ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan’, GoI.
The play titled 'Nasha-e-Zehar' highlighted the detrimental effects of drug abuse on the youth, thus encouraging the audience to make informed decisions about their lives. The event aimed at encouraging conversations about drug abuse and the tools for self help and rehabilitation. The students participated in the awareness rally, shouting slogans for a drug-free India. Principal Dr. Ajay Sharma applauded the students for raising awareness regarding misuse of substances.
