Embezzlement of 27 lakhs, postman withdraws money from the account of deceased pension holders

June 7:

In Sonepat, two employees of the postal department embezzled the amount of social security pension amounting to about Rs 27 lakh. When the departmental officers investigated the matter, it could be ascertained. It is alleged that these rupees have been withdrawn from the accounts of dead elders through fake thumbprints, signatures and false testimonies. There is an allegation of embezzlement of about 25 lakhs on one employee and 1.65 lakhs on the other. Police have registered cases.

The post office superintendent of Sonepat division told the Gannaur police that Rishiraj, a resident of Ward-7 of Kharkhoda, held the post of branch postmaster in village Bajana Khurd from November 2005 to September 2019. He has embezzled the amount of social security pension (old age pension). He withdrew one lakh 65 thousand 800 rupees from the accounts of deceased account holders at different times by showing false thumb impression and signature and by showing false testimony.
