The weather of Chandigarh suddenly took a turn on Thursday morning. It has been raining heavily in the entire city since morning. Due to this many roads were submerged. It has become dark due to dark clouds. That's why people had to switch on the lights of their vehicles. There was hailstorm in many parts of the city around seven in the morning.
According to Chandigarh Meteorological Center, this change in the weather has occurred due to the active western disturbance. Due to this, the city has received 14.5 mm of rain till 8:30 am on Thursday. This is more than normal. It is still raining with thunder in many parts of the city and dark clouds are also present.
Due to rain the temperature has also dropped significantly. The temperature of the city was recorded at around 16 degrees Celsius at 9 am. The Meteorological Department says that similar weather may continue till afternoon. However, the weather will clear after this. The effect of western disturbance active in Chandigarh and surrounding areas will not be much visible in the coming days. Due to this, the weather will remain clear and the chances of rain will be less.
