The complainant told the Chandigarh police that on Tuesday, his wife Rajni and 7-year-old son were passing by a house where renovation work was going on and during the demolition work, a part of the roof fell on them, causing them to fall. were seriously injured.
Police have arrested a construction contractor after a pedestrian and his minor son were injured during renovation work at a house in Manimajra on Tuesday.
Contractor Chandan (34) also belongs to Manimajra.
He has been arrested on the complaint of Manoj Kumar Sodhi, a resident of Mata Raj Kaur Mohalla, Manimajra.
Sodhi said that on Tuesday, his wife Rajni and seven-year-old son were passing by a house where renovation work was going on. There, during the demolition work, a part of the roof fell on them, injuring them badly.
According to the police, Rajini was taken to PGIMER, Chandigarh with serious injuries on his fingers, while his son was admitted to GMCH, Sector 32, with back injuries.
Chandan was booked under Indian Penal Code sections 288 (negligent conduct in relation to demolition or repair) and 337 (causing injury by act endangering life or personal safety of others). Later he was granted bail.
