Meteorologists are predicting rain and snow amid the possibility of two new western disturbances amid the bitter cold. A second western disturbance is likely to affect the western Himalayan region and adjoining plains of northwest India from January 31.
Here, the people of North India including Punjab, Haryana are going to get relief from the dry cold that has been coming for several days. The Meteorological Department has predicted rain in Punjab and Haryana from February 1. This rain may fall from 1st to 4th February. According to meteorologists, along with rain, people may get minor relief from dense fog and cold wave.
The IMD has said in its forecast that there is a possibility of snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan and Muzaffarabad as well as some areas of Himachal Pradesh.
Rain is also likely in some states. Meanwhile, the IMD has said in its new update regarding the relief from the severe cold that the plains of the country may get relief from the cold soon. A minimum temperature rise can be recorded.
