Public holiday announced on June 1, government offices, boards and other institutions will remain closed

In exercise of the powers conferred under Section-25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act 1881, the Chandigarh Administration has declared Saturday, June 1, 2024 as a public holiday. This order of the Chandigarh administration will be applicable to all offices, boards and corporations of the administration.

Besides, this holiday will be a paid holiday for industrial shops and commercial establishments as well as daily wage workers. In order to uphold the democratic principles, the Chandigarh administration also appealed for a special emergency holiday on June 1, 2024 to registered voters in the Chandigarh Parliamentary Constituency working in the Punjab and Haryana administration.

The purpose of this initiative is to voter U. T. To exercise your right to vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Chandigarh.
