Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University Research on problems of Slum residents

The Department of Sociology and English of Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University organized a one-day field exploration for its students. This exploration was conducted to familiarize students with the real aspects of research. The field exploration was centred in the sectors of Chandigarh inhabited by slum dwellers. It was supervised by Dr. Nav Shagan Deep Kaur, the Incharge of the Department of Sociology, and Dr. Ankdeep Kaur Attwal, the head of the English Department, along with two assistant professors, Parmdeep Singh and Yashna. Through this field exploration, the students attempted to understand various aspects and issues related to the lives of individuals living in slums. The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Dr. Pritpal Singh, praised the efforts of the departments. He said that such research could play a significant role in connecting the new generation with social issues. He also encouraged students to document and publish the results of this research.
