Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University Organises "Food-Planet-Health" Webinar on Plant-Based Lifestyle

Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University hosted a webinar on the benefits of adopting a plant-based diet, under the guidance of Dr. Harneet Billing, Programme Coordinator,  NSS. It was organized in collaboration with Vegan Outreach under the "Adopt a College" initiative. The webinar aimed to educate participants about the profound impact of dietary choices on health, animals, and the environment. Keynote speaker Nija Dhillon, Coordinator, Vegan Outreach, discussed the significance of embracing a plant-based lifestyle. She highlighted  the health advantages associated with plant-based diets and  emphasised the importance of nutrition and its direct correlation with overall well-being. The session covered crucial topics including the environmental implications of dietary habits and the ethical considerations regarding animal welfare. The notable feature of the webinar was the introduction of the "Ten Weeks to Vegan" program, which offered practical guidance on transitioning to a plant-based lifestyle. Participants were provided with knowledge and  tips to embark on their journey toward a more sustainable and compassionate dietary approach. The event served as a platform for knowledge exchange and empowerment for more than 700 students, equipping attendees with the necessary tools to make informed dietary choices for a healthier and more compassionate world. Prof Sukhwinder Singh Billing, Dean Academic Affairs of the University shared that "Food-Planet-Health" webinar organized by Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, in collaboration with Vegan Outreach, has inspired to embrace a plant-based lifestyle for the betterment of human life and the planet. Prof (Dr.) Pritpal Singh, Vice Chancellor of the University congratulated the organisers for the success of the event.
