Chandigarh/Bathinda, May 6 (Agency) : Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, on Monday, tore into Harsimrat Badal, Sukhbir Badal, Captain, Manpreet Badal and other opposition leaders for looting Punjab and taking anti-Punjab decisions during their government. Bhagwant Mann was campaigning for the AAP candidate Gurmeet Singh Khuddian in Sardulgarh, where he addressed a huge public gathering and lambasted the Badal family for their atrocities against the Punjabis for decades.
Mann appealed to the people that you've defeated stalwarts like Prakash Singh Badal here, it is time to throw Harsimrat Badal out of the parliament too. He said that she was part of the cabinet of the Modi government who approved anti-farmers bills, the entire Badal family including Prakash Singh Badal defended these bills, later when they witnessed the force of the farmer's movement they took a u-turn. But before these elections these Akali leaders used to go to Delhi and beg the BJP for alliance.
He said that this area used to be the stronghold of dynast politicians but now the times have changed. You defeated all of them and elected the common people. Now I'm sharing the stage today with the people you've elected and they are people like you. He said that they (traditional politicians) were unaware that they won't have a chance in the storm of a master's son. He said that make sure you defeat Harsimrat Badal this time, so that the Badal and Majithia family won't be able to make fun of each other for losing.
Mann also attacked the BJP and said that the people aren't even allowing their leaders into Punjab's villages. He said that it is justice since during the farmers' protest the rulers of Delhi didn't allow our farmers to get in Delhi. He said that they have arrested Arvind Kejriwal. They think they can finish the Aam Aadmi Party, but Arvind Kejriwal is not just a one person, he is an idea, a thinking, they (BJP) won't be able to stop the thinking of Arvind Kejriwal. Mann said that the Aam Aadmi Party does the politics of work. We don't do politics of religion, hatred or divide. He said that the BJP should forget about 400 seats, their ship is sinking.
Mann, attacking Sukhbir Badal, said that he is taking out 'Pariwar Bachao Yatra', but he can't even go out in heat, he has put a roof over his jeep. He said that their only interest is in power and amassing money and property. He said that Sukhbir Badal built Sukh Vilas a seven star hotel. It is built from the blood of Punjabis. They looted Punjab and ruined our families, generation with chitta and for themselves they built Sukh Vilas in the mountains. Mann said that Sukh Vilas's each room has a private pool with it. Mann said that he'll free that land from the Badal family and turn it into a school. It will be the first school with a pool with every classroom. He said that he sees the files full of the misdeeds of these people, where they squandered our exchequer and built their palaces.
He continued that since the formation of their government, many waterways (kassi, khale and rajwahe) are open again. They were always there but these people didn't care to give water to our farmers. They don't even know anything, they have canals reaching their own farms, why would they care about anyone else. He said that they don't even know what 'kassi' is. Mann said that he challenged Badals, Majithia, Bajwa, Captain etc. to pass the Punjabi test, and said that he can give it in writing that they will fail even when the passing marks will be 20. He said that Harsimrat Badal doesn't even know the difference between red and green chilly. He said that Manpreet Badal cannot even read a Punjabi newspaper.
He said that every five years they come and ask for another chance, another opportunity to loot our money and state. He said that all traditional leaders are gloved in hand, they took turns looting our resources and our exchequer. Mann said that he is among the people asking for votes after giving 43,000 government jobs that too without any bribe or recommendation.
He said that recently when I was going to Gujarat for an election campaign, I met a girl on the flight from Chandigarh to Delhi. She thanked me and said that I have been recruited as a Patwari a few days ago. My training period is going on right now but your government has decided that employees will get a salary even during training. I had promised my family members that when I get a government job, then with the money of the first salary, I will take all the members of my family including my grandmother to Delhi by flight. Today, thanks to you, this dream of mine has been fulfilled. He said that his meeting with the girl made him happy, proud and emotional at the same time.
Mann said that the journalists in Delhi asked him how much corruption has cost our country, I told them we will calculate once it's stopped, because corruption is still going on, there are looters at the top who are selling the resources and institutes of this country to the capitalists. Mann said that the corruption will stop the day Arvind Kejriwal became the PM, the corruption will stop in this country the day we have the Aam Aadmi Party government at the centre. He said that everyone is here at a good time, the real test is the tough times. He appealed to the people to vote for the AAP candidate who is a sincere and honest leader. He said give me more arms and voices to serve you in the parliament.
Mann said that the development of the farmers of Punjab is our first priority. After becoming the Chief Minister, I called a meeting of the officers and said that farmers should be given electricity for 11 hours a day without cuts, so that their time and energy is not wasted. He said that electricity is saved too and Punjab sold that electricity to big cities for 90 crores. He said that he is an honest leader, he didn't even take a single penny of the people. He will never break the trust of the people.
Mann said that today Sukhbir Badal is saying that he is a farmer, if he is a farmer then who is the owner of transport, who is the owner of his seven star hotels. Mann said that people count their fingers after shaking hands with the Congress, Akali and BJP leaders. And on the other hand he is getting so much love and support that he cannot repay the debt of this love even in seven lives. He asked the people to not worry about anything, your government will keep working for you, just strengthen us by giving 13 MPs in the parliament.
