Chandigarh, May 30
Senior spokesperson of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Neel Garg, strongly reacted to former Chief Minister and Congress leader Charanjit Singh Channi's recent comments suggesting that the people of Punjab regret electing the AAP government. Garg dismissed the remarks as baseless and reaffirmed the widespread public support for Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and the AAP government.
“Mr. Channi claims that Punjabis regret electing the AAP, but the truth is that the people of Punjab feel immense pride in their decision. Under CM Bhagwant Mann's leadership, the AAP government has fulfilled the aspirations of the public and delivered transformative governance in just a short span of time,” said Neel Garg.
Neel Garg said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab has delivered transformative governance that directly benefits its citizens. Thousands of young people have been provided with job opportunities, fulfilling the government’s promise to tackle unemployment. The healthcare sector has witnessed a revolution with the establishment of state-of-the-art facilities and free treatment, ensuring that quality medical care is accessible to every Punjabi. In the field of education, Punjab’s schools have been transformed into models of excellence, boasting improved infrastructure and teaching standards that empower future generations. Additionally, the provision of 600 units of free electricity for each family has brought much-needed financial relief to households across the state.
Garg added that the Mann government has also implemented initiatives that demonstrate its commitment to building a safer and more sustainable Punjab. AAP’s relentless war against drug abuse has set an example for anti-drug campaigns nationwide, while its efforts to safeguard Punjab’s water resources have been commended by the people of Punjab. Public safety has been enhanced with the creation of a dedicated Road Safety Force. In a historic move, the government acquired a private thermal plant and brought it under public control to prioritize the welfare of the people. These achievements reflect AAP's dedication to delivering on its promises and ensuring a prosperous future for Punjab.
Criticizing Channi’s tenure, Garg remarked, “Mr. Channi, during your brief stint as Chief Minister, the people witnessed rampant corruption, including the seizure of ₹10 crore in cash from your relative’s residence by the Enforcement Directorate. Such scandals highlight the systemic failures and mafia-driven politics of the Congress regime. It is no wonder that the public rejected you and your party, electing AAP with an overwhelming mandate.”
Garg further emphasized, “The AAP government has uprooted the mafia culture that thrived during previous administrations. We have curbed corruption, dismantled drug trafficking, and ensured accountability in governance. The people of Punjab have not only supported AAP but have also endorsed our vision for progress and integrity.”
Looking ahead to the upcoming Ludhiana West elections, Garg confidently stated, “The people of Ludhiana will once again affirm their trust in the Aam Aadmi Party and reject the Congress party’s empty rhetoric and failed leadership.”
