11 Years of Service, Good Governance, and Welfare vs. 60 Years of Congress' Failures: N.K. Verma

June 24, 2025

Jalandhar, 24 June

Shri N.K. Verma, Incharge of BJP Legal Cell, Punjab, stated that he has been entrusted with the responsibility of organizing “Professional Meets” across Punjab as part of the BJP’s nationwide public awareness campaign titled “11 Saal Bemisaal” (11 Glorious Years). He informed that under this initiative, professionals such as lawyers, doctors, chartered accountants, and teachers are being engaged in dialogue, and such programs have already been successfully held in 15 districts. The objective of these meets is to highlight the stark difference between 60 years of Congress misrule and 11 years of BJP’s good governance before the informed sections of society.
Verma remarked that the country’s post independence partition, the draconian Emergency, and massive scams like 2G, Coal, and Commonwealth were all results of Congress’ power hungry policies and constitutional misuse. He asserted that the Congress Party was originally created as a "safety valve" after the 1857 uprising to protect British rule, due to which India had to suffer an additional 50 years of slavery.
He emphasized that it was the same Congress that imposed Emergency in 1975, crushing the press, judiciary, and civil liberties. Millions of innocent citizens were jailed, and inhuman acts like forced sterilization were carried out. Ironically, the same Congress today holds up the Constitution and shouts that “the Constitution is in danger.” He reminded the public that Congress imposed President’s Rule 88 times to topple democratically elected state government during Indira Gandhi’s tenure alone. “Now the people of this country understand that the real threat to the Constitution comes from those who repeatedly used it as a tool for political gain,” he added.
In contrast, Verma said, the BJP government over the past 11 years has exemplified welfare oriented, nation-building, and transparent governance. He cited key schemes like Ayushman Bharat, Ujjwala Yojana, PM Kisan and Jan Dhan Yojana as life-changing for the most vulnerable sections of society. Under Digital India, even the smallest vendors now use mobile apps for financial transactions. Campaigns like Make in India and Make for the World have transformed India into not only a self reliant but a global economic power. For women, youth, and the elderly, schemes like Har Ghar Jal, Swachh Bharat, Gas Cylinder Distribution, Lakhpati Didi Yojana, and Mudra Loans have created opportunities and dignity.
Praising the BJP government’s swift response during the COVID-19 pandemic, Verma said that not only did Indian citizens receive free vaccines and rations, but India also helped over 100 countries under its “Vaccine Maitri” initiative, setting an example of humanitarian leadership. Over 700 million people were provided free food grains during the crisis.
