The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engineering College (BBSBEC), Fatehgarh Sahib, commenced a One Week Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Emerging Trends in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning”, scheduled from 21st to 25th July 2025. The FDP aims to familiarize faculty members across departments with cutting-edge AI/ML technologies, tools, and research practices. Sessions are being delivered by renowned academicians and industry experts, offering both theoretical insights and hands-on exposure. The inauguration ceremony was graced by Dr. Navdeep Kaur, Professor and Head, Guru Granth Sahib World University, as the Chief Guest. She inspired faculty members to adopt AI tools, embrace continuous learning, publish research, and encourage students to explore emerging AI platforms.“Educators must adapt and evolve with AI to shape future-ready minds,” she stated during her address. The event was presided over by Dr. Lakhvir Singh, Principal, BBSBEC, who appreciated the initiative of the CSE Department. He emphasized the importance of organizing such faculty-oriented programs to bridge the gap between academic curriculum and rapidly evolving technologies. Dr. Jatinder Singh Saini, Head of the CSE Department, welcomed the participants and briefed them on the objectives of the FDP. The programme is designed to enhance faculty knowledge and teaching capabilities through hands-on sessions, research-oriented learning, and collaborative engagement.
