The School of Pharmacy, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Desh Bhagat University, organized a Faculty Development Program (FDP) titled “Research from the Roots: Excellence Through Primary Exploration.” The week-long program focused on strengthening faculty members' research capabilities through primary data collection, fieldwork, and evidence-based academic engagement. The FDP was inaugurated by Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh and Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajender Kaur, with the keynote address delivered by Dr. Milind Parle, Professor of Pharmacology and President of APSE. Ms. Shivani Pannu, the session convener, formally introduced the speaker. Each day featured eminent speakers from reputed institutions Dr. Richa Shri, Professor of Pharmacognosy, Punjabi University, Patiala emphasized integrating indigenous knowledge with modern research. Dr. Kalpana Nagpal, Associate Professor, Amity University, Mohali shared insights on pharmaceutical regulatory frameworks. Dr. Rohini Agrawal, Head of Pharmacy, MDS University, Ajmer, spoke on cardiovascular pharmacology and translational research. Dr. Balbir Singh, Professor (Retd.), Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar concluded the series with a powerful session on research excellence. All sessions were graced by the presence of Dr. Zora Singh and Dr. Tajender Kaur, who were warmly felicitated by Principal Dr. Puja Gulati. The program also included hands-on workshops on research proposal writing, data analysis tools (NVivo, SPSS), and research ethics. The FDP concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Principal Dr. Puja Gulati, who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, speakers, and participants for their valuable contributions to the academic discourse.
