In a significant development for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Punjab, noted entrepreneur and social activist Dr. Pooja Singh officially joined the party today. Known for her outstanding contribution to skill development, women empowerment, and social welfare, Dr. Pooja Singh’s entry into politics through AAP is being seen as a major step forward for inclusive and people-centric politics.
Dr. Pooja Singh, who has been a pioneer in the beauty and wellness education sector since 2004, runs over 70 training institutes across India. Her institutions have helped transform the lives of thousands of women, particularly from underprivileged backgrounds, by offering job-oriented training and career-building opportunities. Under her leadership, more than 25,000 deserving students have received scholarships, many of whom are now successful professionals, entrepreneurs, and community leaders.
At a press conference held in Chandigarh, Dr. Pooja Singh was formally welcomed into the party by AAP Punjab President Aman Arora, Chairperson Rajwinder Kaur Thiara, and senior leader Deepak Bali.
Speaking on the occasion, Aman Arora said, “We are honoured to welcome Dr. Pooja Singh, a renowned social worker from Jalandhar, into the Aam Aadmi Party. People from all walks of life are joining AAP because Arvind Kejriwal’s policies and ideology resonate with them. Dr. Singh has been working in alignment with our belief that youth should not only seek jobs but also become job providers. Her presence will strengthen our party’s mission. Deepak Bali introduced Dr. Singh at the event, highlighting her achievements as an entrepreneur and a changemaker. He noted that the party is proud to welcome someone whose life’s work has been rooted in uplifting others and inspiring positive change.
Addressing the media, Dr. Pooja Singh expressed her commitment to using politics as a platform for larger social impact. “Politics gives us the opportunity to change millions of lives. After seeing the Aam Aadmi Party’s work in government, I realised that even common people can play such a meaningful role in politics. My core focus will remain on women’s safety and skill development so that every woman can become financially independent and empowered to grow,” she said.
