Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engineering College (BBSBEC), Fatehgarh Sahib, marked the successful conclusion of its one-week Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Emerging Trends in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning”, organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. The event, held from July 21 to 25, 2025, offered an enriching platform for faculty to explore the latest trends, tools, and innovations in AI and ML. The valedictory function was held on July 25 and featured the presence of S. Amardeep Singh Dharni, Trust Member of BBSB Education Trust, as the chief Guest . He praised the initiative and encouraged the faculty to stay updated with fast-evolving technological domains. Dr. Lakhvir Singh, Principal of BBSBEC, addressed the gathering and congratulated the organizing team and participants for the enthusiastic and successful conduct of the FDP. He emphasized the importance of continuous learning and technical skill-building to meet the demands of modern education and industry expectations. Dr. Jatinder Singh Saini, Head of the CSE Department and FDP Convener, expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the chief guest, guest of honour, and principal for their constant support and presence. He said: "It is a privilege to host such a meaningful program that brought together thought leaders from academia and industry. Over the past five days, participants engaged in insightful sessions, practical workshops, and interactive discussions on the transformative potential of AI and ML in teaching and research." Dr. Saini acknowledged the contributions of distinguished speakers including Er. Luxman (Ansh Infotech), Er. Sahibgun Singh (AdGlobal360), Mr. Sham Sunder (Solitaire Infosystems), Dr. Sandeep Srivastava (Meander Softwares), Mr. Vishal Singh (ThinkNext Technologies), Mr. Ashish Singh Chauhan (Netsmartz), Mr. Gagandip Singh (CodeInsight Technologies), Dr. Harpreet Kaur (Punjabi University, Patiala), and Dr. Ishpreet Singh (CGC Landran).
He also commended the active participation of faculty members, whose enthusiasm, questions, and collaboration played a vital role in the program’s success. The FDP was meticulously coordinated by Er. Ramandeep Kaur, Assistant Professor, who also delivered the vote of thanks, expressing her gratitude to all resource persons, organizing members, support staff, and participants. The ceremony concluded with the distribution of participation certificates, and attendees left with renewed motivation to apply AI and ML concepts in their academic journeys.
