Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University Launches ICT Academy-Infosys Foundation Training to Power Careers in Business Accounting

The Training and Placement Cell of Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib organized the inaugural session of the ICT Academy-Infosys Foundation Training Program on Business Accounting Process-Executive. The training was inaugurated by Dr. Prit Pal Singh, Vice Chancellor of the University. He urged the students to make the most of this industry-focused learning opportunity. Dr. Sukhwinder Singh Billing, Dean Academic Affairs, Dr. Kamaljit Kaur, Incharge, Training and Placement Cell and Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for the program, Dr. Kanchan Rani, Head, Department of Commerce and Management, and Dr. Ruchi Malhotra, Training and Placement Coordinator, Department of Commerce and Management were also present. In her address, Dr. Kamaljit Kaur outlined the objectives of the program and emphasized the importance of bridging the gap between academia and industry. She expressed her gratitude to ICT Academy and Infosys Foundation for partnering with the University to provide students with in-demand, career-ready skills. She informed that the training program, exclusively for the final-year B.Com and BBA students, comprises 20 hours of soft skills training by Ruchika Verma - covering communication, presentation, problem-solving, business writing, and teamwork - followed by 80 hours of technical training in business accounting processes, financial management, corporate finance, and the use of modern accounting tools such as SAP FICO and cloud accounting platforms. A total of 66 students have enrolled in the program, each having successfully completed a mandatory pre-assessment test. The initiative aligns with the Skill India Vision of the Government of India and aims to significantly enhance participants’ employability. The University had earlier collaborated with ICT Academy on the Honeywell Cyber Security Women Empowerment CSR Program, earning the prestigious Centre of Excellence Award. The present collaboration with Infosys Foundation marks another milestone in the uUniversity’s commitment to producing industry-ready graduates. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Kanchan Rani, who acknowledged the contributions of the dignitaries, ICT Academy, Infosys Foundation, trainers, and students in making the event a resounding success.
