The Gatka team of Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib, in collaboration with Guru Kashi University, gave a captivating performance of the Sikh martial art Gatka at Takht Sri Harmandir Ji, Patna Sahib. The performance took place during the historic Nagar Kirtan dedicated to the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. The Nagar Kirtan, organized by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), began on August 21, 2025, from Gurdwara Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur, Dhubri Sahib, Assam, and arrived at Patna Sahib at 12:30 a.m. yesterday. The devotees received the nagar kirtan with great devotion.The Gatka team, led by Bhai Gurpreet Singh (Incharge, SGPC), Bhai Talwinder Singh (Coach, Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University), and Bhai Harjinder Singh (Coach), showcased remarkable skills that were widely appreciated. In his address, SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami announced that the main commemorative events of the 350th martyrdom anniversary will be held at Sri Anandpur Sahib from November 23 to 25, 2025. He also honoured the Gatka team for their performance. SGPC Dharam Prachar Committee Secretary Balwinder Singh Kahlwan added that national-level Gatka competitions will be organized at Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, Anandpur Sahib. The occasion was graced by prominent Sikh leaders, religious personalities, and a large gathering of devotees.
