Haryana Minister visits Bandhwari landfill site in Gurugram to review civic work

Haryana Urban Local Bodies Minister Vipul Goel visited the waste management plant located at Bandhwari and reviewed the ongoing work in the plant on Saturday.

On this occasion, he also held a meeting with municipal officials and representatives of agencies doing waste management work.

During the meeting, the Minister gave clear instructions to further speed up the garbage disposal work and complete the work within the stipulated time frame.

He said that the state government is fully committed to cleanliness and environmental protection, and any kind of negligence in this direction will not be tolerated.

On this occasion, Gurugram Mayor Rajrani Malhotra, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Ashok Kumar Garg, Additional Municipal Commissioner Mahavir Prasad, Additional Municipal Commissioner Y.S. Gupta, Joint Commissioner Sumit Kumar, Executive Engineer Nijesh Kumar, and other officials and representatives of agencies were also present.

IDFC FIRST Bank posts nearly 60 pc net profit loss at Rs 295.6 crore in Q4 FY25

Private lender IDFC FIRST Bank on Saturday posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 295.6 crore for the fourth quarter (Q4) of FY25, nearly 60 per cent decline compared to Rs 731.9 crore reported in the same period in FY24.

For the full financial year FY25, net profit stood at Rs 1,490 crore, down almost 50 per cent from Rs 2,942 crore (year-on-year), as per its stock exchange filing.

Net Interest Income (NII) grew 9.8 per cent YOY from Rs. 4,469 crore in Q4 FY24 to Rs. 4,907 crore in Q4 FY25. For FY25, the growth of NII was 17.3 per cent on YoY basis.

According to the bank, core operating income grew 8.7 per cent from Rs 6,079 crore in Q4 FY24 to Rs. 6,609 crore in Q4 FY25. For FY25, the growth of operating income was 16.7 per cent on YoY basis.

Customer deposits increased 25.2 per cent from Rs 1,93,753 crore as of March 31, 2024 to Rs 2,42,543 crore as of March 31, 2025.

Haryana Industry and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh said that new dimensions will be given to development works in the Farrukhnagar area in the next five years.

He said that, in view of the geographical location of the area, this area will be the priority of investors in Gurugram in the coming time, which will also create new employment opportunities here.

The minister said that by the year 2029, the population of Farrukhnagar town will reach around three lakh.

"The increasing population also brings problems with it; in such a situation, the government will try to fulfil whatever demands the common people have regarding the development of the area in the coming five years. They will be fulfilled with priority. Also, keeping in mind the increasing population, new development projects will also be dedicated to the area," he said.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will, on Sunday, inspect the construction work of the Ganga Expressway, one of the largest and most ambitious infrastructure projects in Uttar Pradesh’s history and a key priority for the state government.

Originally scheduled for Monday (April 28), the inspection has been advanced by a day. During his visit, the Chief Minister will review on-ground progress across three key districts -- Hardoi, Shahjahanpur, and Hapur.

The Indian women’s hockey team fought valiantly but fell short in its opening game of the Australia tour, going down 3-5 to a clinical Australia 'A' side at the Perth Hockey Stadium in Perth on Saturday.

India found the back of the net through Mahima Tete (27’), Navneet Kaur (45’), and Lalremsiami (50’) while Neasa Flynn (3’), Olivia Downes (9’), Ruby Harris (11’), Tatum Stewart (21’), and Kendra Fitzpatrick (44’) scored for Australia 'A'.

The match began at a frenetic pace, with Australia 'A' asserting early control and breaking the deadlock through a well-constructed field goal by Neasa Flynn (3’).
