Myanmar cyber fraud: Telangana probing trafficking of 24 persons from state

The Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) is conducting an investigation to identify those responsible for trafficking 24 persons from the state with fake job offers abroad

These 24 individuals are among 540 Indians rescued from cyber scam compounds in Myanmar's Myawaddy and repatriated by the Central government.

The rescued Indians were brought back to Delhi in two batches: 283 in the first batch and 257 in the second batch, on March 10 and 11, respectively.

According to TGCSB Director Shikha Goel, among the rescued Indians, 24 belong to Telangana. Fourteen of them arrived in Hyderabad from Delhi on March 11. She said the remaining 10 members would reach Hyderabad on Wednesday.

A balloon with a Pakistani flag and name was found on Wednesday in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district on the Indian side of the International Border (IB).

Officials said that a suspicious balloon was found in the Palauna village of the Ghagwal sector of Samba district in the morning, creating a stir.

“The balloon had Pakistan's name and flag mark on it. This balloon was found in the fields by a woman of the village. After finding the balloon, the woman immediately informed the local people and police post Ghagwal. The police team reached the spot and seized the balloon," officials said.

“At present, the police are investigating the matter as to where this balloon came from and whether there is any conspiracy behind it. Earlier also, incidents of finding such balloons have come to the fore in the border areas. Security agencies are seriously investigating the matter”, officials added.

As the maximum temperature in most parts of Rajasthan was recorded above normal, the Meteorological (MeT) Department on Wednesday issued a warning for hailstorms accompanied by rain for March 14 and 15 in parts of the state.

The weather is expected to start changing on March 13, with a yellow alert in place for hailstorms on March 15.

Barmer and Jalore registered extreme heatwave conditions, with temperatures soaring.

In the past 24 hours, Barmer recorded the highest temperature in the state at 41.2 degrees Celsius, while Jalore reached 40 degrees, which is 7 degrees above the average.

Other districts, including Jodhpur, Chittorgarh, Sirohi, Dungarpur, and Pali, also experienced intense heat, with temperatures around 39 degrees. The heatwave persisted for the second consecutive day on Tuesday.

Six persons were killed in two separate road accidents in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on Tuesday.

While five persons were killed when a bus lost control and hit two motorbikes in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh, a youth died and five others were injured when a car rammed into an electric pole on the outskirts of Hyderabad.

An engineering student was killed and five others critically injured when a car in which they were travelling ran amok and rammed into an electric pole on the outskirts of Hyderabad on Tuesday evening.

The accident occurred near Gandipet Movie Towers when the car being driven at a high speed hit an electric pole after the person at the wheel lost control of the vehicle.

A group of engineering students of IGIT College were on their way to Neopolis from Narsingi. Srikar, who was driving the car died on the spot while his friends Hemsai, Vivek, Sujan, Karthikeya and Harsha were injured. They were admitted to a private hospital in Gachibowli.

Manipur: 3 BSF personnel killed, 9 injured as vehicle falls into gorge

At least three Border Security Force (BSF) personnel were killed and nine others injured after the bus in which they were travelling fell into a gorge in Manipur’s Senapati district on Tuesday, officials said.

A police officer in Imphal said that a bus carrying around 15 BSF personnel fell into a deep gorge in Changoubung village in Senapati district injuring 12 jawans. Three of them succumbed to their injuries later.

The BSF personnel were returning to their camp in a college in Kangpokpi district from road opening duty. The injured jawans are now under medical treatment in Senapati district hospital.

Further details of the mishap are awaited.

In yet another incident of drowning, two young girls lost their lives in the Dhasan river in Gona village under Palera police station area of Madhya Pradesh's Tikamgarh district.

The incident occurred early Tuesday morning when a group of children, including few girls went to visit a temple near the river. In response to the rising temperatures, a group of girls felt compelled to cool off in the Dhasan river.

While one managed to call for help and were rescued by nearby villagers, two of them lost their lives despite being rushed to a government hospital.

Although the river is not very deep, the officer said, it is situated downstream from a dam that periodically releases water. This location is not commonly used by locals for bathing.

The officer further detailed how bystanders and those working in nearby fields responded to the girls' distress calls.

Search operation using robot technology was in full swing in a partially collapsed tunnel in Telangana's Nagarkurnool district on Tuesday to trace seven missing persons.

Multiple rescue teams continued their search operation in the Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel for the 18th day.

As per the government's decision to use robots, representatives from Anvi Robotics, a Hyderabad-based company, deployed an AI-based robotic camera system.

On Tuesday morning, company representatives sent the robotic system into the tunnel using a loco train. They also set up a communication system near the control office.

Four people were killed and eight others injured on Tuesday in a road accident in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district.

The accident occurred when the vehicle skidded off the road and plunged into a gorge.

Officials said that the driver lost control of the tempo traveller, after which it skidded off the road and rolled down into a deep gorge.

The incident occurred when the vehicle was proceeding from Jammu to Bagankote.

"Four people died on the spot while eight others were injured in this accident. The injured were immediately shifted to the hospital by local volunteers and police. Police have registered a case in this accident," the officials said.

3 dead, 24 injured as NLU Jodhpur students’ bus overturns in Nagaur

A tragic road accident claimed the lives of three students and left 24 others injured when a Volvo bus carrying students from the National Law University (NLU) Jodhpur overturned near Laldas Ji Maharaj Dham in Nagaur, Rajasthan, on Tuesday morning, officials said.

The accident occurred around 5.30 am near Burdi Phante when the bus, en route from Chandigarh to Jodhpur, collided with a trailer. The impact of the collision was so severe that the bus overturned, leading to multiple casualties.

The deceased students have been identified as Harshit, Aarushi, and Aarav, all residents of Jodhpur.

Following the accident, emergency responders and local authorities rushed to the scene, and the injured students were immediately transported to JLN Hospital in Nagaur for medical treatment.
