Chris Lynn joins Hampshire Hawks for second half of Vitality Blast

Australian batter Chris Lynn will join Hampshire Hawks for the remaining six matches of the Vitality Blast group stage.

The 35-year-old joined the Hawks after South African duo Lhuan-dre Pretorius and Dewald Brevis were awarded with international call-ups to play in a two-test series against Zimbabwe from 28 June.

"It’s great to return to Hampshire, this time as a pro; I had a brilliant time playing club cricket in the county a while ago now. The Hawks are a hugely successful side and hopefully I can play a big part in the second half of the Blast to take the team to Finals Day," Lynn said in a statement issued by the franchise.

Hampshire Hawks’ men return to Vitality Blast action on July 5 against Sussex Sharks at the 1st Central County Ground, Hove. Lynn will then feature at Utilita Bowl the next day as the Hawks host Somerset in a double header.

Could not believe how poorly Jadeja bowled at Headingley: Mark Butcher

Following India’s loss in the first Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy Test at Headingley, former England cricketer Mark Butcher criticised left-arm spin-bowling all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja for his subpar bowling performance in the fourth innings.

On final day’s play, England beat India by five wickets by completing a chase of 371 in the final session. Jadeja, 36, went into the match as one of the most senior-most players, but didn’t have a great influence on deciding its outcome. He made 11 & 25 not out with the bat, while his bowling figures of 0-68 & 1-104 left a lot to be desired.

Mixed Disability Series: India register thrilling 2-wicket win over England at Lord's

India's Mixed Disability Team held its nerve and sealed a thrilling two-wicket win over England in the last over at Lord's in the third T20I of Mixed Disability Vitality seven-match IT20 series at the Lord's Cricket Ground.

The occasion was historic as it was the first-ever international Disability match at the 'Home of Cricket.' The date, venue and the result of the match all made for a tremendous coincidence- 42 years back, India, led by the legendary Kapil Dev, had clinched the 1983 World Cup on June 25 at Lord's in 1983.

"We dedicate our team's historic win to Kapil Dev sir's team's 1983 World Cup-winning team," said Ravi Chauhan, the general secretary of the Differently-Abled Cricket Council of India (DCCI).

Both teams wore black armbands during the match to mourn the passing away of former India left-arm spinner Dilip Doshi on Monday in London.

WI pacer Seales terms five-wicket haul against Australia his 'most special one'

West Indies fast bowler Jayden Seales termed his five-wicket haul against Australia on the opening day of the first Test in Barbados as his best effort yet in Test cricket.

Seales and fellow pacer Shamar Joseph ripped through the Australian batting order to dismiss the tourists for just 180, before the Aussies fought back to have the hosts reeling at 57/4 at stumps on Day 1 at Kensington Oval.

It was the third time in his short international career that Seales has registered a five-wicket haul and the 23-year-old said it was his favourite one yet because he didn't feel like he was in full control of what he wanted to do.

Club WC: Inter beat 10-man River Plate to top Group E,

Second-half goals by Francesco Esposito and Alessandro Bastoni gave FC Internazionale Milano a 2-0 victory against 10-man CA River Plate at Lumen Field on Thursday, sealing top spot in Group E and a place in the last 16 of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025.

With Monterrey scoring three first-half goals to take control in their win against Urawa Red Diamonds, Inter and River were left to battle for Group E's remaining spot in the Round of 16.

Inter created their first real chance in the 26th minute when Esposito was played into space in the box but had his shot blocked by Lucas Martinez Quarta. They had another good look at goal in the 32nd minute, but Lautaro Martinez pulled his strike wide of the far post.

River continued their stout defending to keep the match scoreless at the break. Just before half-time, Inter’s Federico Dimarco fired a dangerous cross at the near post, but center-back Paulo Diaz made a lunging clearance to prevent Esposito from getting a toe on the ball, FIFA reports.
