Desh Bhagat Radio gave tribute to legendary Mohd. Rafi

Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, August 4 (Ravinder Singh Dhindsa) : Desh Bhagat Radio 107.8 fm (Aapki Aawaaz) gave a tribute to the legendary Bollywood playback singer and musician Mohd. Rafi at the studio on his 42nd death anniversary. The distinguished guests for the occasion were Vimal Trikha, Founder Member of Bollywood Felicitation Cell Chandigarh, and Brijesh Ahuja, renowned music composer and actor. They shared valuable and interesting information about Mohd. Rafi. They said that Mohd. Rafi was a versatile singer. During his 40-year career, he sang over 26,000 songs in Hindi and many other languages. He sang for many contemporary composers like Naushad and other composers like S.D Burman, O.P Nayyar, Shankar-Jaikishan and Roshan. Rafi’s voice had a phenomenal range. He sang everything from classical songs to ghazals, light romantic songs to patriotic songs. Rafi was awarded Padam Shri in 1965, one of the Indian government’s highest civilian honours. The creative head of Desh Bhagat Radio 107.8 fm, RJ Lovelylady Sangmitra, gave tribute to the musical maestro.
