Railway traffic is continuously being affected due to deepening fog in Sonipat. Daily commuters are having to bear the brunt of the slow speed of trains. On Tuesday too, long distance trains were delayed by hours due to dense fog. Kalka Shatabdi Express remained cancelled. Amritsar Express is running late by 13 hours, Amrapali Express by 12 hours, Bathinda Express by 6 hours and Amritsar-New Delhi Intercity Express by three hours. Due to which the passengers had to face problems.
Delay in running of trains continues due to fog in the district. On Tuesday too, a dozen long distance trains ran hours behind schedule. Passengers who reached the station to reach their destination kept waiting for the trains shivering in the fog. Daily commuters are facing more problems due to delayed running of trains. The station was crowded with commuters going to work in the morning. As soon as the train arrived, passengers were eager to board. Due to late running of long distance trains, passenger trains also ran late by one to one and a half hours. Whichever train reached the railway station in the morning, there was a huge crowd of passengers.
