Panipat, 16 Jan:
A car fell into a canal near village Siwah of Panipat. Two brothers, managers of private companies, who were traveling in the car, saved their lives by breaking the rear glass of the car and coming out. The younger brother did not know how to swim. The elder took him out with great difficulty. This accident happened due to zero visibility, no reflectors, railings and no index on the canal side.
Model Town resident Abhishek Sharma said that he is originally from Uttar Pradesh. He is working as a quality manager in Devagiri Company near Police Lines. His younger brother is a manager in Hand Fab Company. Both the brothers live together and go to duty in the car together. They were going to their respective companies from Rohtak Bypass via Refinery Bypass on Tuesday morning.
When he turned the car near Siwah village to board the Rohtak bypass, he could not see anything in the fog. There were neither any kind of reflectors nor railings and indicators here. The car climbed onto the canal track. As soon as he applied the brakes, the car slipped and fell into the canal. He opened the seat belt and broke the rear glass of the car with the hook of his belt and both the brothers came out of the car. Police and family members were informed about this. Police reached the spot after 15 minutes. The family members reached here and got their wet clothes changed.
