Panipat, 7 Feb:
A fire broke out in the warehouse of Liberty Shoes located at Risalu village, Chautala Road, Panipat, at around 9 am on Wednesday. There was a stampede among the employees after the fire. The employees informed the owners Rajiv and Sanjay about the fire. Due to which the owners informed the fire brigade and local police. On receiving the information, fire brigade vehicles reached the spot, but by then the fire had taken a huge form. Fire department vehicles were called to the spot.
10 vehicles reached the spot simultaneously and the work of extinguishing the fire was started. The fire kept increasing. Kamal workers also ordered vehicles from Panipat Refinery, NFL, Thermal Power Plant. Also, fire brigade vehicles of neighboring districts were informed to remain on alert. On receiving information about the fire, the local police also reached the spot and due to security reasons, they sealed an area of about 300 meters of the warehouse and imposed restrictions on movement there. At present the cause of the fire has not been clarified.
A factory burned last week
Last week, a fire broke out in the plant located in Siwa of the Golden Factory, which manufactures Golden brand blankets and carpets. In this, raw and finished goods worth crores of rupees were burnt to ashes. Firefighters brought the fire under control after several hours. About 150 workers were evacuated safely.
Weak fire station is a big reason
Panipat is an industrial city. There are about 20 thousand small and big units here. The local fire station is not that strong. As the fire in the factory increases, help has to be sought from Refinery, Thermal and NFL. The same situation arose after the fire in Liberty's warehouse on Wednesday. Once the fire brigade reached the spot on receiving information about the fire, but as the fire increased, the firemen became weak. However, a very modern fire station is proposed on two acres in Panipat. This has not come to fruition yet.
