Haryana opens borders, after several days traffic on Ambala-Chandigarh NH begins

March 05, 2024

Ambala, March 5

Delhi Chandigarh highway remained closed for several days continuously due to farmers' agitation. Now the police has opened one lane of this highway. The Ambala administration has opened a single lane on both sides of the Ambala-Chandigarh highway late at night. Traffic started from here till late night.

Ambala Police has opened this road with the help of JCB machines. Now people have got relief. It is to be mentioned that to prevent the farmers from going to Delhi, the administration had sealed all the roads coming from Punjab.

The police had completely closed two routes from Punjab, the Amritsar-Delhi route and the Chandigarh-Delhi route from February 13. Due to this, people are facing huge problems. The Amritsar-Delhi highway from Shambhu toll plaza was completely closed, while the other Ambala-Chandigarh route remained closed.

All routes coming from Punjab have been closed for more than 20 days. Heavy police force is always present on all these borders. Because the farmers have announced to march towards Delhi. But now the farmers will not go to Delhi by tractor-trolley, but by bus, train or other means.

In this regard, while the administration earlier removed the barrier near Shahabad of Kurukshetra, now the Ambala-Chandigarh road has been opened by making a single line from both sides.
