Chandigarh, March 11
A young man was strangled to death by his friend in the forest adjacent to the Indian Enclave Society in Sector-51 on Sunday. Police took the youth to Sector-16 General Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. The deceased has been identified as 22-year-old Ajit, a resident of Sector-38, a four-storey building.
The police of Sector-49 police station registered a case of murder on the complaint of the deceased's mother Rekha and arrested the killer within seven hours. The accused has been identified as Vimal, who lived in the market verandah of Mohali's Phase-7. The preliminary investigation has revealed that Vimal strangled Ajith to revenge for the fight that took place a few days ago. Police is investigating the matter.
