Desh Bhagat University Hosts Enlightening Workshop on Sapta Sindhu Civilization

Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, 6 May (Ravinder Singh Dhindsa) : Desh Bhagat University's Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages recently organized a captivating workshop focused on exploring the rich cultural heritage of the Sapta Sindhu civilization. The workshop opened with a warm welcome from Dr. Devinder Kumar, Director of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages, who emphasized the profound significance of Sapta Sindhu in shaping our collective identity. Distinguished resource person of the event was Dr. Varinder Garg, MD (Radiology) and OSD to President PGIMER, Chandigarh.

His address shed light on the mysteries of Sapta Sindhu, offering insights into our forgotten past manipulated by colonial administrators that inform our present and shape our future. The Sapt Sindhu region, known as the cradle of civilization, holds within its embrace the secrets of millennia gone by. It is a testament to the resilience of our people that despite the ravages of time and the vicissitudes of history, the spirit of Sapt Sindhu continues to endure. Chief Guest Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University, underscored the importance of such initiatives in preserving our cultural heritage. He urged participants to delve into history's annals to unearth the stories of our ancestors, emphasizing our role as custodians of knowledge and stewards of our legacy. The workshop also saw the release of "Folklore and Folkloristics," a book authored by Dr. Dharminder Singh.
