Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University Organises Yuvak Virasati Mela 2025

Yuvak Virasati Mela, a vibrant event aimed at fostering entrepreneurial skills, celebrating cultural heritage, and promoting traditional games among students was organised at Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University to celebrate Basant Festival. Dr. Harneet Billing, Coordinator of the event, shared that students from various departments set up stalls showcasing their entrepreneurial ventures, displaying creativity and business acumen. The event also featured an array of cultural performances, along with enthusiastic participation in Virasati (traditional) games, reviving the rich heritage of Punjab. Additionally, a natak on the effects of drugs was staged by a team from Punjabi University, delivering a powerful message on the dangers of substance abuse and raising awareness among students.
Dean Students' Welfare, Dr. Sikander Singh, lauded the efforts of the students and faculty in making the event a grand success. He emphasized that such initiatives play a crucial role in the holistic development of students, instilling confidence and practical skills beyond the classroom.
Prof. Sukhwinder Singh Billing, Dean Academic Affairs, highlighted the importance of integrating cultural and entrepreneurial activities into academic life. He remarked that the Yuvak Virasati Mela provided a unique platform for students to explore their creative and business potential while staying connected to their roots.Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. Prit Pal Singh appreciated the enthusiasm and active participation of students. He said that Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University is committed to fostering an environment that not only excels academically but also nurtures entrepreneurial and cultural spirit among students. Events like these contribute significantly to the overall growth and leadership development of young minds. The Yuvak Virasati Mela concluded on a high note, leaving students enriched with invaluable experiences and a deeper appreciation for their heritage.
