The Department of Mathematics of Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib organized a special alumni lecture “Bridging Aspirations: Alumni Mentorship for Competitive Endeavors”. The session was graced by the Patwaris Navjot Kaur and Khushpreet Kaur, both proud alumni of the M.Sc. (Hons.) Mathematics Batch of 2013. The event commenced with a formal welcome address by Prerna, Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics. She emphasized the remarkable achievements of both the alumni. Khushpreet Kaur shared her remarkable multi-exam success story. Besides qualifying for the Patwari Examination, she also secured positions in the Cooperative Department and Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL). She emphasized the importance of having clear goals, a focused mindset, and maintaining consistent effort during competitive exam preparation. Navjot Kaur, through her personal journey, underlined the significance of dedication, determination, and perseverance. She shared how her strong foundation in mathematics helped her overcome numerous challenges and achieve success in her career.
During their talks, they offered valuable insights and inspiration, stressing the crucial role mathematics plays in developing analytical reasoning. They also highlighted its significance in preparing for a wide range of competitive examinations, including the Punjab Civil Services (PCS), Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board (PSSSB), and various other recruitment exams conducted by central and state governments.
