Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University Hosts Special Alumni Lecture on “Bridging Aspirations: Alumni Mentorship for Competitive Endeavors”

The Department of Mathematics of Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib organized a special alumni lecture “Bridging Aspirations: Alumni Mentorship for Competitive Endeavors”. The session was graced by the Patwaris Ms. Navjot Kaur and Ms. Khushpreet Kaur, both proud alumni of the M.Sc. (Hons.) Mathematics Batch of 2013.
The event commenced with a formal welcome address by Ms. Preena, Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics. She emphasized the remarkable achievements of both the alumni. Khushpreet Kaur shared her remarkable multi-exam success story. Besides qualifying for the Patwari Examination, she also secured positions in the Cooperative Department and Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL). She emphasized the importance of having clear goals, a focused mindset, and maintaining consistent effort during competitive exam preparation. Navjot Kaur, through her personal journey, underlined the significance of dedication, determination, and perseverance. She shared how her strong foundation in mathematics helped her overcome numerous challenges and achieve success in her career.
During their talks, they offered valuable insights and inspiration, stressing the crucial role mathematics plays in developing analytical reasoning. They also highlighted its significance in preparing for a wide range of competitive examinations, including the Punjab Civil Services (PCS), Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board (PSSSB), and various other recruitment exams conducted by central and state governments.
The session saw enthusiastic participation from students, who engaged actively by asking questions and discussing their areas of interest. The alumni were deeply appreciated for their valuable insights, while the students expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Department of Mathematics for organizing such a motivational session. Dr. Brehmit Kaur, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics, congratulated both the alumni on their achievements and extended best wishes for their future endeavors. The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Richa Brar, Head, Department of Mathematics. Dr. Brar expressed sincere appreciation to the alumni for their impactful lecture and guidance. She also stressed the importance of discipline in achieving life goals and encouraged students to draw inspiration from their seniors. Dr. Brar extended her gratitude to all the faculty members for their efforts in successfully organizing the event.
