A comprehensive one-day workshop on Artificial Intelligence, Digital Literacy, Life Skills, and Mental Health was successfully organized by Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engineering College (BBSBEC), Fatehgarh Sahib, in collaboration with the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Mohali, at the SCERT Office, Mohali.
The workshop was graced by distinguished educators, administrators, and participants from across Punjab, including district counsellors from government schools, DIET principals, and faculty members. The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Damanjit Sandhu, Head of the Psychology Department and Dean, Directorate of International Affairs, Punjabi University, who emphasized the significance of digital literacy and mental health in the modern educational framework.
Prof. Amanjot Kaur conducted a highly engaging hands-on session on the use of Artificial Intelligence tools for daily office tasks, equipping participants with practical skills for the digital age. Meanwhile, Dr. Mohinderpal Kaur Sandhu offered valuable insights into essential life skills and also served as the stage secretary, ensuring the seamless coordination of the event. The event commenced with a warm welcome by Dr. Lakhvir Singh, Principal of BBSBEC, who acknowledged the collaborative spirit of the initiative. Kiran Sharma, PCS, Director of SCERT, appreciated the efforts of the BBSBEC team in addressing critical topics relevant to educators and students alike. Dr. Buta Singh Sekhon, Additional Director at SCERT, lauded the initiative and expressed interest in future collaborations with BBSBEC for similar capacity-building programs. Dr. A.P.S. Sethi, Dean Students Affairs at BBSBEC, presented a heartfelt vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of all speakers, organizers, and attendees. The event also witnessed the presence of Dr. J.S. Oberoi, among other dignitaries. The smooth execution of the workshop was facilitated by Dr. Balraj Singh and his team from BBSBEC, in close coordination with the SCERT staff. Their combined efforts ensured that the day’s sessions were productive and impactful. The workshop provided a valuable platform for capacity building, aiming to equip educators with the necessary skills and awareness to meet the evolving demands of the educational ecosystem.
