The Commerce Society of DAV College organized an engaging session on “Horizon of Indian Economy” with Mrs. Pooja Singh, a seasoned educator with over 12 years of experience. The event, inaugurated with lamp lighting, witnessed enthusiastic participation of students and faculty.
Mrs. Singh traced India’s economic journey from Independence to the 1991 reforms and its present standing as the world’s 4th largest economy. She highlighted key issues such as GNI, demographic dividend, employment, and start-up culture, while also addressing recent government measures including tax and GST reforms and RBI’s repo rate cut. Students actively raised questions on employment, caste-based job allocation, and overpopulation, which were meaningfully addressed by the speaker.
