One of the best batters ever in T20 cricket, Suryakumar Yadav on Tuesday, inched closer to another record, moving to second in the list of batters with the most consecutive 25-plus scores in the format.

Yadav reached the milestone of 12 consecutive 25+ scores in the 9th over of Match 56 against the Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 at the Wankhede Stadium here.

On Tuesday, Surya scored 35 off 24 balls, laced with five fours. and lived up to his reputation of a 360-degrees player with some sweetly-timed shots, keeping the bowlers on their toes by creating unbelievable angles to despatch the ball to different corners of the ground.

The National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) on Tuesday reported a consolidated total income of Rs 4,397 crore for Q4 FY25, compared to Rs 4,807 crore for Q3 and Rs 5,080 crore for the corresponding quarter of last year.

The consolidated revenue from transaction charges for Q4 was Rs 2,939 crore, a sequential decline of 15 per cent (on-quarter) due to a reduction in volumes across cash market and derivatives segment.

On a consolidated basis, total expenditure for Q4 FY25 increased by 4 per cent QoQ to Rs 1,124 crore.

Pakistan: Five paramilitary troops killed, six injured in Balochistan bomb attack

At least five paramilitary personnel were killed and six others injured in a roadside bomb attack targetting a security convoy in Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province on Tuesday, security sources said.

The incident happened at about 11:45 am local time (0645 GMT) in the Kachhi district, when an improvised explosive device struck a Frontier Corps convoy, the sources told news agency on condition of anonymity.

"The convoy, comprising six vehicles, was on a routine movement when the explosion took place, resulting in the deaths and injuries," officials confirmed.

Security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to trace those responsible for the attack.

The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Tuesday reported a 364 per cent rise in profits to Rs 493.04 crore for the January to March quarter of the financial year 2024-25 (Q4 FY25), compared to Rs 106.16 crore in the same period last fiscal.

The BSE also saw an increase in its revenue from core operations, which grew by 75 per cent to Rs 847 crore in the fourth quarter, up from Rs 484 crore in the same quarter a year ago, as per the company’s consolidated financial statements.

Along with the financial results, the BSE also announced a final dividend of Rs 23 per share for its shareholders.

Intensive Israeli airstrikes struck Yemen's capital Sanaa and the northern province of Amran on Tuesday afternoon.

Local witnesses reported thick black smoke rising over both Sanaa and Amran following the attacks. In Sanaa, the strikes hit Sanaa International Airport, the Dhahban power plant, and two military sites.

NE states to join countrywide civil defence mock drill tomorrow

The northeastern states would join in the nationwide civil defence mock drill on Wednesday.

The mock exercise is being conducted at more than 244 locations across the country on the directive of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) as part of heightened security measures following the April 22 terror attack at Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, in which 26 innocent civilians, mostly tourists, were killed.

As per the MHA directives, the civil defence mock drill would be conducted in 52 districts in eight northeastern states.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) will carry out intensive aerial operations in Rajasthan as part of its regular operational preparedness efforts. The exercise will begin at 3.30 p.m. on May 7 and continue until 9.30 p.m. on May 8, during which airspace in the region will be restricted to ensure safety and operational integrity.

The move comes in the wake of the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam last month, which claimed the lives of 26 people, most of them civilians. The assault was carried out by four terrorists affiliated with The Resistance Front, a known proxy of the Pakistan-based and banned terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba.

GMDA CEO issues directive to accelerate infrastructure development works in Gurugram

Shyamal Misra, Chief Executive Officer, Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA), on Tuesday, issued directives to expedite the resolution of issues pertaining to land acquisition, missing links, compensations, and demarcations to fast-track the infrastructure development works being taken up by the Authority in Gurugram.

Mishra issued direction while chairing the 15th coordination meeting on Tuesday evening in the GMDA office.

Various works pertaining to the construction of roads and the laying of master services such as water supply, drainage networks, sewer networks, etc., are being carried out by GMDA in the areas under its jurisdiction.

To ensure prompt progress of the infrastructure development works being undertaken, the required measures to resolve the on-ground issues are being taken up by GMDA on priority with the concerned departments.

The GMDA CEO outlined that any hindrances in such projects must be resolved at the earliest, for the benefit of the public at large.
