A high-level meeting was presided over by Power Minister S. Harbhajan Singh ETO and CMD Sh. Ajoy Kumar Sinha at the PSPCL Rest House, Amritsar. Er. Inderpal Singh, Director Distribution; Sh. Surinder Kumar Beri, Director Finance; Er. Desh Raj Banger, Chief Engineer Border Zone; along with all SEs and XENs of the Border Zone, were present. The meeting was convened to review and finalize preparations for the upcoming paddy/summer season.

CMD PSPCL comprehensively reviewed the status of feeder maintenance, redressal of public grievances, recovery of outstanding dues, and the timely release of new connections. He also stressed the need for ensuring the adequate availability and upkeep of essential materials required for the season.

The Punjab government has taken a stern stance on the shooting incident at the home of an NRI family in Amritsar. On Saturday, NRI Affairs Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal met the affected family and assured them of justice.

Dhaliwal stated that strict action would be taken against the culprits involved in this incident and assured action against the local SHO for negligence in handling the case. He mentioned that as soon as he learned of the incident, he spoke to the Police Commissioner of Amritsar and directed immediate action.

Reaffirming the Punjab government’s commitment to maintaining proper sanitation and public hygiene, Cabinet Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian, along with all city MLAs and the Mayor, carried out a massive cleanliness drive across Ludhiana on Saturday.

The drive began at Jamalpur Chowk on Chandigarh Road, led by Punjab Housing and Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian, with city MLAs kicking off the campaign in their respective constituencies. Ludhiana South MLA Rajinder Pal Kaur Chhina initiated the drive from Dholewal Chowk, Atam Nagar MLA Kulwant Singh Sidhu from Bhagwan Chowk on Gill Road, Ludhiana Central MLA Ashok Prashar Pappi from Shagun Palace, and Ludhiana North MLA from Bal Singh Nagar. Additionally, Ludhiana East MLA Daljit Singh Bhola Grewal and Mayor Principal Inderjit Kaur launched the drive from Vardhman Chowk, Chandigarh Road.

Dr. Ish Sharma, Professor, Department of Rog Nidan, Babe Ke Ayurvedic College, Moga, Prof. (Dr.) Anil Sharma, Dean, Faculty of Indian Systems of Medicine, SGT University, Gurugram; Gurmukh Singh, representative from Kheti Virasat Mission, Punjab and Dr. Satya Deo Pandey, Director of Clinical Research at Desh Bhagat University, shared their expertise on the pivotal role of Aahar Dravya (dietary substances) in human health and Ayurveda. The seminar witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 200 delegates, including Ph.D., MD, and BAMS scholars, who joined both online and offline. Students and faculty from various Ayurvedic colleges attended, engaging deeply with the scientific understanding and applications of Dravyaguna (Ayurvedic pharmacology). Dbu Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh and Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur, graced the occasion and commended the initiative. They emphasized the importance of such Seminars.

Lovely Professional University (LPU) emerged as the winner of the National Moot Court Competition 2025, securing the first position along with a cash prize of Rs. 21,000/-. Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL), Patiala, claimed the runner-up position, showcasing commendable advocacy and legal reasoning. Danish Tak from Dogra Law College, Jammu, was adjudged the Best Mooter and awarded a cash prize of Rs. 5,000/- for his exceptional courtroom presence and articulation. The Best Researcher Award, also carrying a prize of Rs. 5,000/-, was conferred upon Deepak Kaur from the University Institute of Legal Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh, for her in-depth legal research and clarity of thought. RGNUL, Patiala, also bagged the Best Memorial Award.

'AAP' Praises Mann Government for Implementing 'Rangla Punjab' Scheme, Thanks Chief Minister Mann

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) praised the decision of the Cabinet to approve the 'Rangla Punjab Vikas Yojana' announced in this year’s budget and thanked Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for it.

Senior party leader and spokesperson Neel Garg said that the Mann government is always known for taking decisions in the interest of the people, as the politics of the Aam Aadmi Party centers around the common people. The decision taken in yesterday’s Cabinet meeting to allocate a special fund of ₹585 crore for implementing the "Rangla Punjab Vikas Yojana" is a fresh example of this commitment. Under this scheme, all 117 Assembly constituencies will be allocated ₹5 crore each.

He said that this is the first scheme of its kind in India’s political history, where funds will not only be utilized under the discretion of MLAs but also through the participation of social organizations, citizen groups, and eminent individuals of the constituency to determine where and how the funds will be used. This is an unprecedented decision in the political history of India. This decision will accelerate Punjab’s development and also strengthen the democratic system.
