The education revolution initiated by the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is set to transform the state, ensuring that children in government schools receive an education that surpasses even that of private institutions. This was stated by Punjab Power and Public Works Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO during an event in village Makhan Windi, Jandiala Guru Assembly constituency, where over 50 families from the Akali Dal and Congress formally joined the Aam Aadmi Party.

Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO stated that inspired by the progressive policies and performance of the AAP government, a growing number of people are leaving their traditional parties to join the Aam Aadmi Party. He highlighted that numerous Akali Dal workers from Makhan Windi village in the Jandiala Guru constituency joined AAP today. Welcoming the new members, he assured them of full respect and recognition within the party.

Cabinet Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO stated that under the education revolution spearheaded by Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann, government schools are being equipped with new smart classrooms, boundary walls, modern bathrooms, advanced labs, and other state-of-the-art facilities. These initiatives aim to ensure that children in government schools receive a quality education on par with the best. He emphasized that this education revolution will bring transformative changes to Punjab.

The Department of Chemistry, Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib organized an industrial visit of the students to Chanakya Dairy (HF Super) at Focal Point, Mandi Gobindgarh. The visit was part of the department’s ongoing industrial exposure initiative aimed at bridging the gap between academic learning and industrial practices. The objective of the visit was to provide students with practical insights into modern dairy production, processing, and supply chain management. During the comprehensive tour of the dairy plant, students witnessed firsthand the various stages of milk processing—from raw milk collection and pasteurization to packaging and distribution. They were also introduced to the latest machinery and cutting-edge technologies used to ensure the quality and safety of dairy products. The staff of Chanakya Dairy provided detailed demonstrations and emphasized the importance of hygiene, quality control, and sustainable practices such as waste management, water conservation, and energy-efficient operations. Students engaged in interactive sessions, gaining knowledge about the operational challenges and innovations within the dairy industry. Vinod Kumar Dutt, Managing Director of Chanakya Dairy, interacted with the students. Dr. Rahul Badru, Head of the Department of Chemistry, highlighted the importance of such industrial visits in supplementing classroom learning with real-world experiences. These views were expressed by the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Mr. Lal Chand Kataruchak while inaugurating various projects at Government Primary School, Papiyal (Rs. 13.21 Lakh), Government Primary School Najochak (Rs. 8.27 Lakh) and Government Senior Secondary School Najochak (Rs. 11.13 Lakh) falling under Bhoa Assembly constituency.

In his address at Government Senior Secondary School, Najochak, the Minister said that this revolution in academic sector has been ushered in by the leadership and guidance of the Chief Minister who has the vision of turning State into Rangla Punjab besides the Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains and the National Convenor Aam Aadmi Party Arvind Kejriwal and doyen of Sikhya Kranti Manish Sisodia.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Wednesday gave a bonanza worth Rs 135 crore to Majha region by laying the foundation stone of a project aimed at enhancing capacity of sterilized flavored milk and new fermented products dairy (Lassi, Curd and Flavored Milk) at the local milk plant.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that such functions were never witnessed during the previous regimes as those who were at helms of affairs at that time were bothered about their family only. However, he said that now these functions are a regular feature as the state government is working tirelessly for the well being of the people. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that now spectacular progress and development is seen in every sector for which the state government is making concerted efforts.

‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’: Punjab Police arrest 5,535 drug smugglers

The war against drugs under ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’ on the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to eradicate the drug menace from the state entered the 40th day on Wednesday.

Punjab Police on Wednesday arrested 111 drug smugglers and recovered 3.7 kg heroin, 253 kg poppy husk, and Rs 98,800 drug money from their possession.

An official said that the number of total drug smugglers arrested has reached 5,535 in just 40 days, adding that the operation was conducted on the directions of Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav simultaneously in all 28 police districts.

Self-styled pastor Jashan Gill, who has been accused of raping a 22-year-old BCA student and later forced her to undergo an abortion that eventually claimed her life in 2023, surrendered in a trial court in Gurdaspur town of Punjab on Wednesday.

The victim’s father alleged that the pastor lured her daughter with false promise, raped her and arranged botched up abortion, resulting in severe complications.

A day earlier, the brother and sister of the accused were arrested by the police.

This scholarly work sheds new light on the revolutionary struggle in Punjab and Delhi in the early 20th century and offers fresh perspectives on the ideological motivations of key martyrs such as Master Amir Chand, Bhai Bal Mukund, Awadh Bihari and Basant Kumar Biswas. The book was unveiled in the presence of an esteemed panel of dignitaries, including Prof. S. K. Gakhar, Vice Chairperson, Haryana State Higher Education Council; Prof. Viney Kapoor Mehra, Former Vice-Chancellor, Dr B.R. In a path breaking initiative, the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Wednesday asked the officers to organize a special Kisan Milni at Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana on April 12 to sensitize the farmers regarding cultivation of paddy.

Chairing a meeting here at his official residence, the Chief Minister said that the special Kisan Milni will focus on making the farmers aware about cultivation of paddy before the starting of paddy season. He said that during the Milni the farmers will be apprised about the innovative and less water guzzling techniques of paddy transplant. Likewise, Bhagwant Singh Mann said that focus will be on motivating the farmers to use only the high yielding varieties of paddy approved by the PAU.
