Celebrations of Baisakhi Continues at Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University

The Department of Sociology of Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University celebrated Baisakhi festival in  a dynamic way while showcasing various facets of Punjabi culture. Through activities like turban tying, Giddha, and Bhangra, the University students had the opportunity to not only participate in traditional customs but also deepen their understanding of their cultural heritage.The involvement of students from different departments reflects the universality of the celebration, fostering a sense of unity and camaraderie among the university community.Under the guidance of faculty members Paramdeep Singh, Yashna and Kiranjit Kaur, the event was organized with care and attention to detail, ensuring an authentic and immersive experience for everyone involved. Dr. Nav Shagan Deep Kaur, In-charge of the Sociology department was instrumental in coordinating the event seamlessly. She said that the support and encouragement from the Pro-Chancellor Prof. Ajaib Singh Brar and the Vice Chancellor Dr. Pritpal Singh underscored the significance of such cultural activities in preserving and promoting Punjabi heritage among the younger generation. She added that the Baisakhi celebration served as a vibrant platform for students to connect with their roots, celebrate their culture, and build a stronger sense of community within the university.
