We want to nurture more talents like Vaibhav Suryavanshi, says BCA President Rakesh Tiwari

Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) president Rakesh Tiwari said that Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 success is a testament to Bihar’s rich cricketing talent, waiting to be discovered and nurtured.

Vaibhav, just 14 years old, has become the youngest-ever player to score a century in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Playing for the Rajasthan Royals, the Patna-born batter smashed a 35-ball hundred against Gujarat Titans — the fastest IPL century by an Indian, breaking Yusuf Pathan’s record.

“We recognised Vaibhav’s talent at a young age, and we want to nurture him to become his best version. I would like to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji for his encouraging words today. We have been working hard to identify talented bowlers as well, and we recently launched a ‘Search for Bowlers’ initiative in Bihar. I am confident that, just like Vaibhav, more exceptional talents will emerge from this initiative.”

None of us is safe anymore in Karnataka: MoS Shobha Karandlaje

Raising concerns over the law and order "situation" in Karnataka, Union Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Labour and Employment Shobha Karandlaje on Friday said "none of us is safe anymore in the state."

Speaking at a press conference held at the Goldfinch Hotel in Bengaluru, the MoS said: "Where is law and order in the state?".

"Rapes are happening somewhere, murders elsewhere, and no one knows about it. None of us is safe anymore in Karnataka," she stressed.

"People step out of their homes, but there's no guarantee they'll return. The government promises all kinds of guarantees, but not for life," the MoS said.

"State Home Minister G. Parameshwara himself is caught in scandals and is under the influence of the mafia. With such people in charge, there's no use talking about law and order in Karnataka," she said.

IPL 2025: Didn't celebrate Rohit bhai's wicket because I've a lot of respect for him, says Siraj

Gujarat Titans pacer Mohammed Siraj opened up about bowling to Rohit Sharma and the muted celebration that followed after he clean bowled the former Indian captain in his second match of the IPL 2025.

Now donning the Gujarat Titans jersey after years of service at Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Siraj has quietly but strongly scripted one of the most inspiring comebacks of the season.

Bowling to Rohit in the ninth match of the ongoing IPL, Siraj got hit for a boundary but came back sharply with a perfect inswinger to knock back the stumps. Speaking on JioHotstar’s Gen Bold special, he said, "My first match didn’t go well — it was a high-intensity game after a long break. But I learned from it and focused on my bowling. Against Rohit bhai, I tried swinging the ball twice, but it didn’t work. Then I stuck to my plan and got the wicket. I have a lot of respect for him, which is why I didn’t celebrate much."

Dreaded fugitive on the run for five years nabbed by Delhi Police

The Delhi Police Crime Branch has arrested a long-time absconder, Mohammad Javed alias Ganju, who had been declared a proclaimed offender in a 2017 attempt to culpable homicide case inside Mandoli Jail.

Javed, an active member of the notorious Rohit Chaudhary gang, had been evading arrest for nearly five years after being named in an attack on a rival gang member inside the high-security prison.

On June 28, 2017, around 4 p.m., Javed and his associates allegedly assaulted an inmate, Gaurav Kohli -- linked to the rival Sunder gang -- using a knife and screwdrivers.

The attack, which was part of a larger gang rivalry, led to the registration of an attempt to culpable homicide case at Harsh Vihar Police Station. Of the four accused -- Mahesh alias Manu, Mahavir alias Rocky, Mohammad Javed alias Ganju, and Sandeep -- only Mahesh was arrested at that time. The others were declared proclaimed offenders and charge sheeted in absentia.
